VB: Adams, Searcy top All-20-1A selections

Beckville senior T'Ouja Adams and junior Montana Searcy led the Beckville Ladycats to a second-place finish in the District 20-1A volleyball standings and a Class 1A Area playoff berth this fall. The pair was honored with superlative recognition as they led BHS to a 27-14 season mark, posting a 9-3 record in the league.

The Timpson volleyball team couldn't overcome a Beckville squad that was gearing up for a run in the Class 1A playoffs as the Ladycats knocked off the Lady Bears in straight sets, 25-21, 25-13, 25-11, in John Herbert Eakin Gymnasium in Timpson Tuesday night.

The setback ended the season for Timpson, which dropped its last seven matches of the year and finished the season with a 9-26 mark overall, 2-10 against District 20-1A competition.

VB: Carlisle makes quick work of THS

TIMPSON, Tx -- The Timpson Lady Bears have struggled this season. When they have lost matches many times it has been because they struggled making the routine plays and committing unforced errors. Carlisle came into John Herbert Eakin Gymnasium Tuesday night and didn't beat themselves and dropped Timpson, 25-10, 25-9, 25-13.

The loss was the Lady Bears' fifth straight and sixth in their last seven matches. They dropped to 9-24 on the season, 2-8 in District 20-1A action with two matches remaining.

VB: Lady Bobcats earn revenge on Timpson

GARY, Tx -- Two squads that have been struggling to find their identity in the District 20-1A volleyball chase squared off Saturday morning here in Bobcat Gymnasium when Gary hosted Timpson. The Lady Bobcats avenged an earlier season setback to the Lady Bears by capturing a sweep, 25-18, 25-15, 25-21.

VB: Ladycats take crucial match from Timpson

BECKVILLE, Tx -- In a match that could go a long way in determining one of the final playoff spots in the District 20-1A race, the Beckville Ladycats used 18 service aces and took advantage of strong net play and nine service errors by Timpson to record a 25-9, 25-16, 25-18 sweep of the Lady Bears here in Bearcat Gymnasium Friday afternoon.

After winning just seven matches a year ago, including two in league action, the Timpson Lady Bear volleyball team has already bettered those two marks this year before it has reached the midway mark in the District 20-1A race.

The Lady Bears stayed in the playoff chase on Tuesday night at home as they recorded their third win in their last four matches with a straight-set win over Karnack in Herbert Eakin Gymnasium.

The Timpson Lady Bears and Gary Lady Bobcats were looking to turn their misfortunes of a winless start in the District 20-1A volleyball race on Tuesday night and the two squads battled to the limit in Herbert Eakin Gymnasium in Timpson before THS came out on top, 3-2, in this league matchup.
