Tatum High School defensive coordinator and former successful Center AD and head football coach James Conway has been hired to become the next Athletic Director and head football coach at Timpson High School, TISD Superintendent Dr. Mid Johnson announced this morning.

The decision whether to keep Kenny Washington as Timpson ISD athletic director and head football coach could be decided in the coming days as superintendent of schools Dr. Mid Johnson and the TISD Board of Trustees continue to discuss not only the future of the football program, but the entire athletic department vision, Johnson said on Monday.

Is Washington in or out at Timpson?

TIMPSON, Tx -- The professional coaching career of Timpson athletic director and head football coach Kenny Washington is uncertain heading into the Thanksgiving holiday after the district posted a notification for his position at the district without telling the him anything about it, according to the coach.

However, in a telephone interview on Wednesday night, Dr. Mid Johnson, TISD Superintendent, said he has had discussions with Washington on the subject.
