It's late at night and I'm sitting here at my computer in my office like I have so many times over the past three years. I'm burning the 'midnight oil' once again. It's the end of an era of sorts, but one which I look back on and smile when I think of all the great memories and friendships I've built.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes' Heart of a Champion Bowl will be played on Saturday at Longview High School's Lobo Stadium as players from throughout East Texas take part in the second-annual event.

The contest will kickoff at 6:30 p.m.

Approximately 110 East Texas football players will participate in the game, representing 60 schools. The Red All-Stars won last year's game, 24-0.

Carthage defensive lineman Dakota Hart will lead talented players from all over East Texas as they gear up for the 2nd Annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes' 'Heart of a Champion Bowl'.

The all-star football game is scheduled 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Lobo Stadium in Longview.

Approximately 110 East Texas football players representing 60 schools will take part in the game. Last year's contest was won the Red All-Stars, 24-0.

Garrison offensive lineman Kord Bradshaw has been selected to play in the 2012 Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Football Game.

The 78th annual game, which is presented by Fuddruckers, will be played on Tuesday, July 31, at 7:30 p.m. in the Alamodome in San Antonio. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Southwest. Tickets for the game are $10 at the gate.

The all-star game will be played in conjunction with the THSCA annual convention.

With a pair of state championships under his belt and the opportunity for more still on the horizon before his senior year ends this summer, Tenaha's Reginald Davis solidified his future on Wednesday when, as expected, he signed his national letter of intent to play college football for Texas Tech University.

Davis verbally committed to the university in Lubbock last March and never wavered, taking an official visit out there just two weeks prior to signing his official intent.

The state of Texas has its first Heisman Trophy winner since Ricky Williams and Texas Football is making sure he gets his due. Baylor’s Robert Griffin III graces the fifth-annual edition’s striking cover, as does his familiarly-posed bronze trophy, and with good reason — behind Griffin, Baylor completed one of its finest seasons in school history.

As expected, Class 1A D-II State champion Tenaha landed the most players on the All-District 12-1A football team which was announced recently. But the Beckville Bearcats and Mount Enterprise Wildcats weren't far behind in the all-league choices by the coaches in the district.

Although on the outside, most fans might think that Tenaha's Reginald Davis has lived a 'charmed life.' nothing could be farther from the truth. But after a very tough childhood, one that could have tempted some youngsters to get in trouble, or possibly land them jail time by the time they were 18, the Tiger senior appears to be reaping the benefits of staying on the 'straight and narrow' during his teen years.
