LAFAYETTE, La. - The 12th-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajun softball was as advertised Sunday, taking down Stephen F. Austin 14-3 in the final game of the Ragin' Cajun Invitational at Lamson Park.

The Ragin' Cajuns (17-0) scored in all but two innings and got a six-RBI performance from center fielder Brianna Cherry as part of a 14-hit attack.

WACO, Tx - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat UTEP 8-6 Sunday afternoon in the fifth-place game at the Fairfield Inn North-Texas Shootout hosted by Baylor.

Carlie Thomas (3-5) earned the victory on the mound for the Ladyjacks, pitching all seven innings while allowing six unearned runs on six hits and three strikeouts.

WACO, Tx – The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks lost a pair of tightly contested ballgames on day two of the Fairfield Inn North–Texas Shootout Saturday afternoon at the Southwestern Region Little League Complex.

Following a 3-1 loss to North Texas, SFA fell 2-1 in eight innings to Texas Tech. The Ladyjacks (4-10) will be back in action one more time tomorrow against UTEP in the fifth-place game. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks scored three crucial runs in the top of the seventh inning which helped propel them to a 6-4 victory over Weber State Sunday afternoon on the final day of the Troy Cox Classic hosted by of New Mexico State.

SFA (3-7) got a solid pitching performance from sophomore Carlie Thomas (2-4), who earned her second victory of the season by pitching five innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out a season-high seven.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - Nicholls rallied for four runs in the sixth inning to complete its comeback from a 5-0 deficit and defeat Stephen F. Austin, 6-5, Sunday at SFA Field in the season finale for both teams. The win gives the Colonels the series victory after splitting with SFA in Saturday's doubleheader.

With the loss, the Ladyjacks finish the 2011 campaign at 14-36 overall with a 9-21 mark in Southland Conference play. Nicholls wrapped up its season with a 15-37 record and a 7-22 conference showing.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - The Stephen F. Austin softball team got a walk-off home run from Amber Price Saturday in Game 1 against Nicholls, helping the Ladyjacks split the series-opening doubleheader against the Colonels at SFA Field. Price's homer came on a 1-0 pitch to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning and give the Ladyjacks a 1-0 verdict in the opener. SFA would go on to drop Game 2, 5-0.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - Central Arkansas put up six runs in the top of the seventh to erase a 4-0 Stephen F. Austin lead and leave town with a 6-4 victory and a series win over the Ladyjacks. SFA starter Carlie Thomas had shut the Bears out on one hit through the first six innings, but Central Arkansas got to the freshman for five base knocks in the final frame.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team got a walk-off win in the opener, then dropped Game 2 for a split in the series-opening doubleheader with Central Arkansas Saturday at SFA Field. The Ladyjacks took a 5-4 verdict in Game 1 but dropped a 5-0 decision in the second game.

SFA moves to 13-33 on the year with an 8-18 record in Southland Conference play, while the Bears go to 23-29 with a 9-17 league mark.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - Wednesday's doubleheader at North Texas has been canceled, due to poor weather and wet field conditions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The games will not be rescheduled.

SFA will begin a season-ending six-game home stand this weekend with a three-game series against Central Arkansas.

HAMMOND, La. - Stephen F. Austin got strong pitching performance from freshman Carlie Thomas and good offensive production for a 7-0 win over Southeastern Louisiana Saturday in the first game of a series-ending doubleheader. But the Lions would pick up a 5-2 verdict in the finale to take the series.

SFA moves to 12-32 on the year with a 7-17 record in Southland Conference play. Southeastern improves to 19-23 overall and 9-12 in league action.
