It's late at night and I'm sitting here at my computer in my office like I have so many times over the past three years. I'm burning the 'midnight oil' once again. It's the end of an era of sorts, but one which I look back on and smile when I think of all the great memories and friendships I've built.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks were unable to slow down a dynamic UNI Panthers' offense in an 83-67 loss in the first round of the Women's Basketball Invitational Thursday evening at William R. Johnson Coliseum.

SFA (23-10) had four players score in double-figures, including a team-high 16 points from Annette Davis but the Ladyjacks could not slow down a Panthers' team that shot 51 percent from the floor, including 41 percent from 3-point territory.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks have received the No. 2 seed in the Women's Basketball Invitational and will host No. 7 Northern Iowa Thursday at 7 p.m. at William R. Johnson Coliseum.

This will mark the Ladyjacks 26th appearance in postseason play, having last advanced to the 2010 WNIT where they fell to Creighton, 76-65.

KATY, Tx -- Redemption found its way toward Caitlyn Baggett on Friday night, which led to McNeese State finding itself back in the NCAA tournament.

Baggett, who missed a pair of free throws with 17 seconds left, knocked down a pair with five seconds remaining to give the Cowgirls a 62-58 win over Stephen F. Austin for the school's second consecutive Southland Conference tournament championship and an automatic bid to next weekend's Big Dance.

KATY, Tx -- For the first time since 2007, the conference's most prolific women's program is back in the championship game.

A smothering defense and a dominate effort on the glass helped pace Stephen F. Austin to a 66-57 win over upset-minded Nicholls State on Thursday afternoon, sending SFA (23-8) to Friday's title game, where they will face defending tournament champion McNeese State.

KATY, Tx -- In an up-and-down affair between two evenly matched teams, it stood to figure someone had to blink in the closing minutes.

Stephen F. Austin held its ground, using an 11-0 run in the final 3:56 to fend off Lamar 73-64 and advance to Thursday's semifinal, marking the first time since 2007 the Ladyjacks moved past the opening round.

NATCHITOCHES, La. - Tammara Marion hit a game-winning jumper with nine seconds remaining and the Ladyjacks claimed their 21st win of the season with a 70-68 victory at Northwestern State Saturday afternoon.

SFA (21-8, 11-5) enters the Southland Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed and will officially play Lamar Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in Katy. The Ladyjacks defeated Lamar 61-51 on Feb. 22, the only meeting this season between the two teams.

WBB: Ladyjacks fall to Sam Houston, 70-55

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - Despite a career-high 21 points from freshman Porsha Roberts, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks as a team shot just 30 percent and were outscored 46-32 in the second half of a 70-55 loss to Sam Houston State Wednesday evening on Senior Night at William R. Johnson Coliseum.

SFA (20-8, 10-5) fell a full game behind SHSU (16-10, 11-4) in the SLC West Division standings and are now fourth overall in the SLC with just one game remaining Saturday at Northwestern State.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks outscored the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders 39-23 in the second and got a big boost from their bench en route to their fifth straight victory with a 72-60 triumph Saturday afternoon at the Dugan Wellness Center.
