NACOGDOCHES, Tx - The Stephen F. Austin baseball team dropped their first home game of the season, losing 5-2, in the non-conference finale against South Alabama Sunday afternoon at Jaycees Field.

Chase Greening (0-2) took the loss after striking out a career-high eight batters through six and two-thirds innings pitched in his third start for SFA (4-8). Greening allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits through 29 batters faced. The Lufkin native had just three strikeouts through his first two starts entering Sunday's game.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - Colton Eubanks shut out South Alabama for seven innings and the Lumberjack offense exploded for eight runs in the third inning as Stephen F. Austin took a 9-0 win in the second game of a three-game weekend set on Saturday at Jaycees Field.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx - Ricardo Sanchez hit a walk-off sacrifice fly to score Hunter Dozier in the bottom of the 11th inning, giving Stephen F. Austin a 5-4 comeback win over South Alabama on Friday at Jaycees Field.

ARLINGTON, Tx - The UT Arlington Mavericks scored a pair of runs off the Stephen F. Austin bullpen in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 3-1 win in the finale of the UTA Invitational at Clay Gould Ballpark on Sunday.

The loss spoiled a splendid start from SFA (1-7) freshman Cameron Gann, who allowed just one run in seven innings of work in his first collegiate start. Gann allowed just five hits and three walks with one strikeout in seven innings of work on the day.

ARLINGTON, Tx - Houston Baptist's Bradley Brown dropped down a squeeze bunt to score David Pfuntner from third base in the bottom of the 13th inning to give the Huskies a 6-5 win over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday at the UTA Invitational at Clay Gould Ballpark.

SFA (1-6) had a pair of chances to close out the Huskies, in both the ninth and 12th innings, but HBU (?-?) was able scrap back each time and eventually squeezed out its first win over the Lumberjacks since the 1993 season.

ARLINGTON, Tx - Zack Taylor tied a career high with nine strikeouts and SFA out hit Missouri State on the evening, but the Bears made their hits count and handed the `Jacks their second loss of the day, 8-3, at the UTA Invitational at Clay Gould Ballpark on Friday.

SFA (1-5) only allowed five hits to the Bears (4-2), but a pair of them came from leadoff man Spiker Helms, including the game's biggest shot - a sixth-inning grand slam that broke open the game and put MSU out in front 7-1.

NACOGDOCHES, Tx – Following a heart break 4-2 loss in College Station to the No. 4 Texas A&M Aggies Tuesday night, Stephen F. Austin put one in the win column with a 10-3 blowout in their home opener against Grambling State.

Less than 24 hours after dropping one on the road, the Lumberjacks (1-3) took on Grambling (2-2) in the first meeting of a home-and-home series between the two teams.

BEAUMONT, Tx - Hunter Dozier had three hits, including a pair of homers, but the Lumberjacks gave up four runs in the first two innings and had to play catch up all afternoon in dropping a 10-5 decision to Portland on the final day of the Lamar Classic at Vincent-Beck Stadium.
