NACOGDOCHES, Tx - Teams don't like slumps, but if they have to be in one, maybe the early part of the season is a more desirable time to struggle.

The Shelbyville Lady Dragons haven't had a lot of cheer about early on in the 2012 season, but first-year head coach Eren McMichael is hoping that her squad can battle out of its current doldrums soon with district play opening this week. The Lady Dragons posted a 1-5 mark this weekend at the Nacogdoches-Central Heights Tournament.
