It's late at night and I'm sitting here at my computer in my office like I have so many times over the past three years. I'm burning the 'midnight oil' once again. It's the end of an era of sorts, but one which I look back on and smile when I think of all the great memories and friendships I've built.
Oditte Odisho, a sophomore point guard for the Panola Fillies basketball program, has committed to NCAA Division I Duquense University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Odisho, a 5-6 player from Ontario, Canada, was named to the NJCAA Region XIV All-Conference squad after leading the team in scoring and returning the Fillies to the Region XIV tournament this past season.

TYLER, Tx - Despite making an early exit from the Region XIV Women's Basketball Championship Tournament, the Panola College Fillies had two players recently named to the all-conference team. Sophomore Oditte Odisho was named to the all-league squad, while sophomore Chastity Taylor earned Honorable Mention.
TYLER, Tx -- Playing the No.1-ranked team in the country during the regular season and taking them on when it comes to postseason tourney time is two completely different scenarios. Just ask the Panola College Fillies.
After the Panola squad with 12 freshmen and fell to Trinity Valley Community College in Athens last Saturday night by 25 points in the regular season finale, the Fillies didn't see the team that wants to keep its record unbeaten all the way to a possible national title.
The Region XIV Basketball Tournament is scheduled for the Rose City again, but this year at Tyler Junior College's Wagstaff Gymnasium. The Panola College Fillies are the No.8-seed in the women's division, while the Ponies just missed making this year's field.
The tourney was held at UT Tyler the last two years, but a scheduling conflict moved the event across town. The tourney is expected to return to the Herrington Patriot Center next year.
CARTHAGE, Tx - Looking for her team to finish the regular season schedule strong after securing the eighth seed in the upcoming Region XIV postseason tournament, Panola College women's basketball coach Tracey Stellato was disappointed, to say the least, when her Fillies dropped Wednesday night's home finale against last-place San Jacinto College, 66-65, here in Arthur Johnson Gymnasium.
CARTHAGE, Tx — Panola coach Tracey Stellato was a standout point guard at Tatum High School and LeTourneau University, and she demands a high level of play from her backcourt, especially her point guards.
She got that Wednesday. Panola's tandem of point guard Oditte Odisho and shooting guard Chastity Taylor combined for 42 points to lead the Fillies to a 79-71 win against Lon Morris here in Arthur Johnson Gymnasium, that all but secures a Region XIV Conference tournament berth.
CARTHAGE, Tx -- Holding on to a slim one-game lead in the Region XIV standings in the fight for the eighth and final berth for the upcoming postseason tournament, the Panola College Fillies were hoping with a strong effort Saturday afternoon as they celebrate the 'Play4Kay' Breast Cancer Awareness game here in Arthur Johnson Gymnasium.
Decked out in their special pink uniforms, the Fillies were anything but "Pretty in Pink" as they struggled throughout in a 69-54 setback to Paris Junior College.
