Trinity's eighth grade football team got a break on the first play from scrimmage, scoring on a 60-yard touchdown pass on a throw that went through the Tenaha defender's hands. They never overcame that play and the size disadvantage as the Tenaha junior high squad fell by a 28-0 count at Trinity.
Tenaha fell to 0-1 on the season. The Tigers will travel to Burkeville Thursday night for their next action. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
Tenaha Coach Chad Ashby said that the Tigers faced a Trinity team that had more size and his team struggled because of that aspect of the game. "We will tweak some things this week on offense and see if we can have more success against Burkeville this week," Ashby commented.
In the seventh grade scrimmage, T.J. Thomas scored on a 70-yard run and threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to Matt Hicks to highlight Tenaha's play.
