CENTER -- Steve Campbell loves baseball. Campbell's four sons love baseball. You might even say they almost live, sleep and eat baseball. He's even written a book on hitting.

And because he's always looking for ways to improve his sons' performances on the field, it's only natural that he'd come up with new ideas on how to do that.

The 11th Annual Brady Barton Fall Ball Tournament is coming to Carthage once again in early August. Tourney organizer Robert Barton, and father of Brady Barton, is looking for teams to participate in tourney, which raises money annually to the worthwhile cause.

CENTER -- After a rough start, the Joaquin Major (12 Year Old) All-Stars battled back to tie Idabel in the Dixie Majors State Tournament here on Center Noon Lions Field, but couldn't generate enough offense for the remainder of the tourney opener, falling by a 5-3 count on this muggy Saturday afternoon.

The District 22-1A baseball race was tough from start to finish this past season and naming the all-league team wasn't any easier. But when the league's coaches gathered and tallied their votes, Shelby County's teams from Joaquin and Timpson had their fair share of honorees.

Led by infielder Luke Murray, Joaquin had three first teamers and a second teamer named, while Timpson was honored with player on the first team and three more being honored with second-team recognition.

ST. LOUIS, Missouri -- There is no doubt that the 'new' Busch Stadium here in downtown St. Louis not only has something for everybody, but was very well thought out as it possesses many qualities that make it one of the greatest sports venues in professional sports.

For the past seven months players in the Center Youth Baseball 13-14 Year Old Division have been 'licking their chops' as they await the opportunity to play on the newly constructed Tommy Morrison Field. On Thursday, they'll finally get their chance.
