CENTER, Tx -- The Joaquin 12U All-Stars took a loss in the opening round of the Dixie Majors (12U) State Tournament, but 'dug in their heals' and have been working their way back toward the championship in the loser's bracket this week.

The Rams' loss on Saturday gave them a day off on Sunday. Then the squad routed Huntington, 14-5, on Monday and then opened up an early lead then held off Tri Cities, 6-4, on Tuesday. That puts Joaquin the 'final four' heading into Wednesday's action.

CENTER, Tx -- After dropping their opening game of the T-Ball South Regional State Tournament to Diboll White on Saturday, the Center All-Stars responded well with their backs to the wall as nine of their players had perfect days at the plate on Sunday in a 26-18 victory over Joaquin here at Center Noon Lions Ballpark.

The setback eliminated the Rams from the tourney. Joaquin fell to Dayton, 22-14, on Saturday. Center moved on to play Hudson National on Monday at 4 p.m.

CENTER, Tx -- Baseball can be a game of inches, whether it be a long foul ball that just goes outside the foul pole as it sails over the fence, or even an intangible, like in Saturday's opening round of the Dixie Majors 12U State Tournament when Bryan Clark lined a shot to centerfield against Diboll, only to see it bounce off the top of the fence and come back into play.
