It wasn't long ago the Joaquin Rams were talking about a slump and the need to get back on track. It's probably safe to say that they've used Spring Break to accomplish that task after combining to outscore their opponents 43-13 in their past three games as the Rams are posted a spotless 3-0 mark during that run.

CARTHAGE, Tx - After having a pair of games cancelled because of wet weather and giving his troops a few days off for Spring Break, Joaquin head softball coach Steven McCann wasn't counting on a crisp effort coming into Tuesday's nondistrict matchup with the Carthage junior varsity. But despite a sputtering offense, the Lady Rams produced enough offense and McCann got to see some young faces in action in a 5-2 JHS win here at Buddie Bounds Field.

The Joaquin Rams are meeting the challenge of their head coach.

Faced with a three-game losing skid and a schedule of five games slated in six days, Joaquin head baseball coach Rodney Prnka challenged his squad to break out of its slump in the Frankston Tournament this weekend and in their games Monday and Tuesday at home against Zwolle (4 p.m.) and Hemphill (4 p.m.). The Rams responded in their first game at the tourney with a 15-5 whipping of West Rusk on Thursday.
