After winning their first 18 games of the season, eventually taking over the No.1 spot in the state in Class 1A and capturing the District 21-1A Co-Championship and a berth into the regional finals, the Beckville Ladycats led the all-league selections which were released last week.

Beckville junior third baseman Shelbi Jo Dodson and sophomore shortstop Taylor Lindsay were named Co-Most Valuable Players by the coaches in the district, while BHS freshman Cassidy Cox was named the Newcomer of the Year.

HENDERSON, Tx - This year's four softball games between District 21-1A foes Beckville and Garrison could have easily been compared to a boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. Both fought toe-to-toe and wouldn't back down.

Each of the games between these two Class 1A heavyweights was full of damaging blows. And with each school trying to claim their first trip to the state softball tournament on Thursday at Lady Lion Field, this game was no different.

GARRISON, Tx - All of the Garrison Lady Bulldogs' hopes of capturing the District 21-1A championship came down to Tuesday night's home matchup against the No.2-ranked and undefeated Beckville Ladycats. And with skies threatening overhead, GHS head coach Stacey Kee put the ball in the hands of her ace pitcher. Catherine Heflin pitched a four-hitter as Garrison moved into a first-place tie with the 'Cats with a hard-fought 8-5 win.
