Youth: Shelbyville captures Flag Championship

SHELBYVILLE -- After finishing the regular season in a tie for second place with Timpson, the Shelbyville Dragons posted two playoff wins in the past two weeks to capture the championship in the Shelby County Youth Football League Flag Football Division. Shelbyville won Saturday's title game with an 18-6 decision over Center Gold at Dragon Stadium in Shelbyville.
Shelbyville advanced to the championship with a hard fought 26-18 win over Timpson the prior week, and used a balanced attack to record the win over Center Gold on Saturday. Center Gold outscored Center Purple, 44-20, in the other Flag Football semifinal.
Scoring touchdowns for Shelbyville included Jaylon Brinson, Kolby Parker and Jakavieon Buckley.
Jayden Hicks scored the lone touchdown for Center Gold.
