FB: Hart to play for Red in all-star game

Carthage defensive lineman Dakota Hart will lead talented players from all over East Texas as they gear up for the 2nd Annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes' 'Heart of a Champion Bowl'.
The all-star football game is scheduled 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Lobo Stadium in Longview.
Approximately 110 East Texas football players representing 60 schools will take part in the game. Last year's contest was won the Red All-Stars, 24-0.
Hart will play for the Red Team in this year's event. In 2011 he finished with 67 tackles, with 49 of those stops being solo tackles. He also posted 10 tackles for losses, which ranked him third on the team. Hart posted six quarterback pressures, one pass breakup, one fumble recovery, four quarterback sacks and six quarterback hits.
Last year Hunter Holland of Carthage and Jared Woodall of Beckville played in the event, along with Shelbyville's Nino Cartwright and Garrison Jeremy Robinson played.
Also playing in this year's game will be Garrison's Nathan Burkhalter, who will play for the Blue Team as a defensive back. Burkhalter finished the 2011 season with 38 tackles, including 26 solo stops. He also intercepted two passes and caused two fumbles.
In addition to his defensive statistics, Burkhalter was the leading rusher for the Bulldogs, picking up 1,310 yards on 140 carries, while scoring 16 touchdowns. He averaged 9.4-yards per carry as the 'Dogs finished the year 12-2.
Coaches for this year’s teams served as assistant coaches last year. Lindale head coach Mike Meador will head up the Blue team, and John Tyler head coach Dereck Rush will lead the Red team.
Six players from Henderson will be playing in the game.
