The Tenaha Tigers are getting set for the biggest game in the football program's history since the 1998 season when the squad takes its unbeaten 13-0 mark to Dallas Cowboys Stadium on Thursday to face the Munday Moguls (13-2) for the Class 1A D-II State Championship at 4 p.m.
The game, along with all high school state championships this weekend will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest TV stations, will be webcasted on www.foxsportssouthwest.com and www.foxsportshouston.com. The Tenaha-Munday game will also be broadcast on the radio by KGAS Radio (104.3 FM) out of Carthage and KQBB (100.5 FM) from Center.
The Tenaha ISD has announced that it will be settling tickets to Thursday's games at district's high school until Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Presale ticket prices are $12 for adults and $8 for students.
All tickets at the gate will be $15. All tickets are general admission and will be good for all three games which will be played on Thursday. The other games include the Class 1A D-I championship between Stamford (13-2) and Mason (14-0) at 12-noon and the Class 2A D-I matchup between Melissa (12-1) and Hempstead (14-0) at 8 p.m.
There will be three games on Friday at Cowboys Stadium and three more on Saturday. Ticket prices are $15 at the gate or online through Ticketmaster.com and are also good for the three games each day.
The Tenaha ISD is currently offering rides from Tenaha to Cowboys Stadium to watch the Tigers play for the second state football title in school history. There will be two charter buses through Chuck's Travel. Seats are $25 per person, with the number of seats being limited up to capacity.
School officials stated that the charter buses will leave from the Tiger Gym (old gym) parking lot at 9:15 a.m. Thursday and arrive in Arlington for lunch at 12:15 p.m. Fans will return to the bus by 1:45 for a short ride to Cowboys Stadium. The charters will then leave the stadium to return to Tenaha at 7:45 p.m.
The district is also offering one 'yellow' fan school bus. The cost for seats on this bus is $10 per person. It will leave from the Tiger Gym parking lot at 9 a.m. and after a short stop at the I-20 Exit at Lindale for a restroom break, will arrive in Arlington for lunch at 12:15 p.m. Fans will return to the bus by 1:45 and be taken to Cowboys Stadium. The school bus will also leave Cowboys Stadium at 7:45 for the return trip back to Tenaha.
The district announced that the Tenaha ISD band will meet at the band hall at 8:15 a.m. Thursday for breakfast and loading. The band will leave the parking lot at 9:15 a.m. They will arrive in Arlington for lunch from 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 pm., with plans to arrive at stadium at 2 p.m.
The Tigers will occupy the home bench at Cowboys Stadium and the Tiger band will play the national anthem. The band will later leave the stadium at 7:30 p.m. and should arrive back in Tenaha between 10:30-11 p.m.
There will be a pep rally for the Tiger football team from 6-6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the TISD Special Events Center. School officials are asking Tiger supporters in the community to attend to show their support for the team.
