YFB: Unbeaten teams capture SCYFL titles

Youth football squads complete season with Super Bowls

CENTER, Tx -- Three teams posted unbeaten records this fall en route to capturing their respective divisions and their Shelby County Youth Football League Super Bowl titles.

Timpson claimed the championship in the 10-12 Year Old Tackle Division of the SCYFL as Anthony 'A.C.' Cooper's squad defeated Tenaha, 26-14, in the Super Bowl played Saturday at Center's Roughrider Stadium.

In the 8-9 Year Old Division, Heath Hagler's Center Purple team blanked Timpson, 20-0, to take the championship.

In the Flag Football Division, the Center Purple/White squad coached by Dre Evans and Keith Henson outlasted Hemphill, 20-14, to win the Super Bowl.

The Shelby County Youth Football League wished to express their appreciation and thank everyone who supported and participated in the league this season. Those who the league wished to thank include the players, coaches, sponsors, parents and volunteers. They also wish to thank their patient game officials, Jud Matthews and each school's athletic director of the school districts which hosted games. League officials admitted that because of the time and effort of so many it was a very successful season.

The Shelby County Youth Football League also wishes to remind players and coaches that if they still have children with equipment, please contact SCYFL President Greg Hubbard and return them. The cost of equipment not returned is $150.
