With the completion of the semifinal rounds last weekend, Championship Saturday has been set in the Shelby County Youth Football League.
The title games in the three divisions will be played this Saturday at Roughrider Stadium, on the campus of Center High School. The cost of admission is $2 for adults and $1 for students.
The closing ceremonies for the league will be held following the 10-12 Year Old championship game. The league will be raffling off a youth ATV and a deer rifle during this time. Tickets will be sold through Saturday's games.
According to information provided by league representative Kendra Simmons, here is the schedule for Saturday:
The 8-9 Year Old Tackle Division championship will be played first, with No.3-seed Timpson taking on No.1-seed Center Purple at 10:15 a.m.
Although no results from last week were released, No.3 Timpson defeated No.2 Center Gold and No.1 Center Purple knocked off No.4 Shelbyville in the semifinal round games.
The Flag Football Division championship contest will be held at 12-noon. It will match No.2 Hemphill and No.1 Center Purple/White. Both of these teams received byes in the quarterfinal rounds last weekend and ultimately survived. No results from the other games were released.
The final title game on Saturday will feature the 10-12 Year Old Tackle Division championship. It will match No.2 Tenaha against No.1 Timpson at 1:15 p.m.
No results were released from last weekend's semifinals, but Tenaha knocked off No.3 Shelbyville and Timpson defeated No.4 Center White to get to the finals.
