The Shelby County Youth Football League has announced its opening round playoff games for Saturday and it features some great matchups.
The games will be played at Roughrider Stadium in Center, beginning at 9 a.m. with the Flag Football and 8-9 Year Old Tackle divisions getting underway. Contests will continue throughout the day, with the last game in the 10-12 Year Old Division getting started at 1:30 p.m.
The cost of admission is $2 for adults and $1 for students.
Here's a rundown of action as release by league representative Kendra Simmons:
In the Flag Football Division, No.5-seed Tenaha will battle No.4-seed Center Purple/White at 9 a.m., with No.3-seed Joaquin taking on No.6-seed Timpson at 10:15 a.m. No.1-seed Center Purple-Gold and No.2-seed Hemphill both have a bye this week and will open play on Saturday, Nov. 12. These games will be played on the practice field adjacent to the stadium.
In the 8-9 Year Old Tackle Division, No.3-seed Timpson will battle No.2-seed Center Gold at 9 a.m. on the 'turf' of Roughrider Stadium. That game will be followed by No.4-seed Shelbyville battling No.1-seed Center Purple at 10:30 a.m. The winners will play for the title next weekend.
In the 10-12 Year Old Tackle Division, No.2-seed Tenaha will battle No.3-seed Shelbyville at 12-noon, then No.1-seed Timpson will take on No.4-seed Center White at 1:30 p.m. The winners will square off next weekend for the championship.
