Center High School will be showing off its newly installed artificial turf surface at Roughrider Stadium this summer when it hosts a youth football camp next week.

According to CISD Athletic Director Kevin Goodwin, the Center Roughrider Football Camp is set for next Wednesday and Thursday, July 20-21, at the newly renovated stadium. The camp will be held from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. both days.

The camp, which is for youths which will entering the second through ninth grades, will provide attendees quality instruction on the game of football by Center High School football coaches, former Roughriders and volunteers.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for campers at the cost of $50 for the first student and $25 for any additional sibling. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt and learn the rules of football, as well as participate in scrimmages, drills, team building games and more.

"This will be a camp where your child will get quality football instruction from quality coaches and instructors," Goodwin stated. "They will definitely benefit from what they learn during this two-day camp. Your child will be a better, more knowledgable player, after this camp."

Anyone interested in signing up for the camp is urged to call the CHS fieldhouse at (936) 598-1520.
