FB: Bulldogs move up in AP weekly poll

One week of the 2010 football season has been played and as many as six PineyWoodsSports.com teams are now ranked either in regional or state polls. Here is a quick look:
Associated Press Top 10 State Polls
The Associated Press has announced this week's Texas High School State Poll after Week 0 games have been played and two PineyWoodsSports.com teams are still near the top of the rankings.
Carthage moved up from the No.3 spot to No.2 in Class 3A after the Bulldogs' 41-26 win over Class 4A Jacksonville on Friday.
Tenaha remains at No.3 in the Class 1A state poll this week after blanking Class 2A Joaquin, 34-0.
Another close East Texas team, Alto, has moved up from No.10 to No.9 in the Class 1A poll. Alto plays in District 10-1A D-I along with local squads Shelbyville, Garrison and Timpson.
Smoaky.com Top 10 Regional Polls
Carthage and Tenaha continue to be ranked No.1 in their respective classification polls, as posted on Smoaky.com this week.
The Bulldogs continue to hold the top spot in Class 3A, ahead of league competitor Gilmer, who sits at No.2 again this week. Both teams had big wins during Week 0, with Carthage defeating Jacksonville, 41-26, and Gilmer blitzed Atlanta, 63-28.
Center was ranked No.9 in Class 3A in the preseason poll and has moved up to No.8 in the regional rankings.
Four teams in the PineyWoodsSports.com area are ranked in the top 10 poll this week. Tenaha remains at No.1 after the Tigers 34-0 win over Joaquin.
Garrison started the season at No.6 and continues to sit at No.6 after the Bulldogs 42-30 victory over Hemphill, Shelbyville was not ranked at the beginning of the season, but comes into this at No.7 after the Dragons' 34-27 win over Troup and Mount Enterprise is at No.10 after a 14-8 win over Cushing. That is where the Wildcats were last week.
Eastexsports.com Top 10 Regional Polls
Carthage is also ranked No.1 in Class 3A in the Eastexsports.com Regional Poll this week. Gilmer is ranked No.2 and Center stands at No.7 in the weekly poll.
Tenaha sits atop the Class 1A poll, ahead of Alto, which is unbeaten and sits at No.2. Garrison is holding the No.5 spot, while Shelbyville is ranked No.10 in the poll.
