Garrison offensive lineman Kord Bradshaw has been selected to play in the 2012 Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Football Game.

The 78th annual game, which is presented by Fuddruckers, will be played on Tuesday, July 31, at 7:30 p.m. in the Alamodome in San Antonio. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Southwest. Tickets for the game are $10 at the gate.

The all-star game will be played in conjunction with the THSCA annual convention.

Carthage defensive lineman Dakota Hart will lead talented players from all over East Texas as they gear up for the 2nd Annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes' 'Heart of a Champion Bowl'.

The all-star football game is scheduled 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Lobo Stadium in Longview.

Approximately 110 East Texas football players representing 60 schools will take part in the game. Last year's contest was won the Red All-Stars, 24-0.

Carthage Independent School District voters went to the polls last weekend and approved all three propositions for the district, which was good news for the Bulldog football teams and other athletic programs as well.

The Beckville Independent School District Board of Trustees didn't have to look far to find its new Athletic Director and head football coach. After Mike Segleski, Jr. informed the district on Monday that he was turning down the position, Carthage's Eric Robinson was offered and accepted the dual position Friday afternoon.

After one year as Athletic Director and head football coach at Jasper, former Carthage assistant coach Garrett Morgan abruptly turned in his letter of resignation on Monday, according to a story published in the Jasper Newsboy newspaper.

According to the newspaper's online edition, Morgan tendered his letter of resignation to JISD Superintendent Dr. Jon Whittemore after meeting with his staff and players on Monday morning.

CARTHAGE, Tx -- It's been a whirlwind high school career for Carthage four-year starter Edward Pope. Not even expecting to play high school football, Pope was convinced by head football coach Scott Surratt that his future was on the gridiron. That has proved to be true when Pope recently signed on the dotted line to play collegiate football at Texas A&M University.

Brantley actually carries two 'sticks' in his right and left arms, that, in addition to his 6-foot, 8-inch frame often matches him against players much smaller than he is.
