With each new school year comes excitement of the unknown. It also signifies change and growth. This year we are changing and growing as well.

Beginning today, our website is changing its name to PineyWoodsSports.com. We have added four new towns to our coverage area. And because we have expanded past the boundaries of Shelby County, we felt it only appropriate that we change our name to include this growth, and projected growth of the future.

Now, rest assured, if you have our old web address (www.ShelbyCountySports.com) in your favorites, you can still arrive at our site by using it. We have kept the former name so that you may reach our site by using the URLs of www.PineyWoodsSports.com or www.ShelbyCountySports.com. It's not a new site, just a new name with new coverage and features.

Beginning today, in addition to the coverage of Shelby County towns of Center, Joaquin, Shelbyville, Tenaha and Timpson, we are adding the coverage of Carthage, Gary, Garrison and Mount Enterprise. In addition, we'll still cover Stephen F. Austin, Panola College, the East Texas Wildcats semi-pro football team and various youth sports across the area.

We would like to note, however, that because of our limited manpower and our extended high school coverage, we will no longer be covering junior high events or posting their schedules. However, if coaches will send in the information we'll be more than happy to post it.

PINEYWOODSSPORTS.COM COVERS TEN TOWNS
If you'll take a look at our website, you'll notice a few changes have taken place. All of our high schools are now listed across the top of the pages of our website, just below the new banner. If you hover your mouse over the name of a town, you will notice a drop-down box with options of choosing a particular sport. Stories will be listed under each sport in reverse chronological order. If you don't see your school's sport, just click on the "More" button. Sports in season and coming up should be visible. If you want see a particular town's homepage, simply click on the name of the corresponding town.

For Stephen F. Austin, Panola College, the East Texas Wildcats and Youth Sports, the links to those colleges and teams are now on the right-hand side of the page. They each have 'slide-out' boxes to view individual sports. You can also click on the name of the team to go to that particular team/sport's homepage.

TRACKING HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE STANDINGS
Also, on the side menu you will see the "Standings" button. If you click on that button you will see all the districts we will be tracking this football season, along with the teams in those districts. We will report scores from nine high school football district, along with two college conferences, the Texas United Football League in the spring and various youth standings.

If you want to go directly to the standings of that particular district, hover your mouse over the "Standings" button and a slide out box with all the districts and conferences will appear.

You will notice that we already have the composite football schedules for each district already posted and the standings are set up for the coming season. We will track those scores for you each week and update the standings.

SCHEDULES
If you want to see our coverage area's composite schedule, simply click the "Schedules and Results" button on the right side of any page or click the "Complete results & schedules" link on the top right side of any page (across from the PineyWoodsSports.com logo).

As games are reported, those scores will be posted on the schedules. Time changes will also be noted as they become available.

We also have a rotating schedule and scoreboard on the right side of each page, near the bottom.
