Johnny Shaw and Darrel Barnes combined for 30 points Monday night as the Center Middle School 7th grade 'A' team recorded a 50-35 victory over Rusk at the Roughrider Middle School Gymnasium.
Shaw led all Roughrider scorers with 16 points, while Barnes dropped in 14 in the 7th 'A' victory.
In 8th grade 'B' action, Sanswalez Choyce poured in 12 points to lead CMS past Rusk, 24-6.
Chavis Gregory pitched in 18 points, but the Center Middle School 8th 'A' team dropped a hard-fought 41-39 overtime decision over the Eagles.
Dalton Horton scored 10 points as the CMS 7th grade 'B' won, 17-10, over Rusk.
The Center Middle School teams will be at home against next Monday night, Feb. 1, when they host Carthage. The seventh grade games will tip off at 5 p.m.
