Center placed three players on the 2009 All-District 18-3A All-District Volleyball First Team and six players on the overall squad. The teams were chosen by the coaches in the league.
The Lady Riders posted an overall record of 9-8, while finishing the 18-3A race with a 4-6 mark, placing fourth in the league race and just missing a postseason bid. Carthage claimed the district title, with Huntington and Diboll claiming the other two postseason positions.
Three Lady Rider seniors were named to the first team. O'Mattie Swindle, Simone Swindle and Shaderica Gregory were selected. Junior Kaley Nichols was named to the second team.
Center junior Ashley Schulz was named the District 18-3A Newcomer of the Year.
Four members of of the Lady Rider squad were named to the District 18-3A All-Academic team. They include Simone Swindle, Shaderica Gregory, Kaley Nichols and Suzanne Peace.
Center was in the chase to the playoffs until the final week of the regular season when it dropped a pair of 3-2 decisions to Huntington and Rusk, which eliminate the chances. The Lady Riders then finished the season with a setback to Carthage.
