The Tenaha Junior High football 'A' team fell behind 16-6 at halftime last Thursday night and was knocked off for only the second time in District 19-1A play with a 28-6 setback at the hands of Waskom on the road.

The Tigers' Keontas Davis was noted for giving a good effort running the football at times. Davis scored a 12-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, but it was the only scoring on the night for Tenaha.

With the setback, the Tigers fell to 2-3-1 on the year and 1-2-1 against district opponents. Tenaha will host West Sabine today (Thursday) in The Pit. The Tenaha Junior High 'B' team will scrimmage first at 5 p.m., followed by the 'A' game.

The Tigers' Robert Salas was also credited with running hard.

Outstanding defensive efforts were given by  Blane Cummings, Charles Reed, Irving, Acopa and Robert Salas, according to TJH coaches. They all made key tackles during the scrimmage and live quarter of action.

Salas made a touchdown-saving tackle with less than one minute left to preserve the tie for Tenaha.
