The Carthage Lady Bulldogs struggled with their shooting Friday night, hitting just 20 percent from the field as they lost their second straight District 16-3A contest, falling to Pittsburgh, 36-22, Friday in Pittsburgh.
The loss, which dropped Carthage to 13-11 on the year, leaves the Lady Bulldogs with a 1-2 league mark heading into this week's play. Carthage traveled to Gilmer Tuesday night, before hosting Henderson Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs connected on only 8-of-41 field goals in the game and also struggled at the free throw line, connecting on 6-of-14 (43%).
Emilee Mclinn led the Carthage scoring with seven points, but managed only 2-of-14 shooting. Salena Robinson was 2-of-4 from the field, scoring six points.
Tambra Mitchell pitched in three points for CHS, while Chasity Traylor, Jarnai Hill and Claudia Williams each scored two points.
The Lady Bulldogs were also held to 19 rebounds. Mclinn and Robinson each pulled down six boards, with Robinson tallying four on the offensive end. Williams secured four rebounds, Mitchell had two and Traylor finished with one.
Williams recorded five steals against Pittsburgh, with Robinson picking up two.
