The Center ISD homecoming bonfire that was postponed Monday night has been tentatively rescheduled for tonight (Thursday) after the middle school football games at Roughrider Stadium, according to high school officials.
There is one 7th grade and one 8th grade game scheduled to be played at the stadium, beginning at 5 p.m. If there is no rain during those games, the bonfire will take place just north of the stadium immediately afterwards, it was announced this morning.
In addition, CHS homecoming festivities will take place at Roughrider Stadium before and at halftime of Friday night's game against Diboll, which is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
The CHS Chaparrals will perform at 6:55 p.m. on Friday, followed by the Beaus and Sweetheart presentations at approximately 7:02 p.m. That will be followed by the Recognition of Excellence: Teacher of the Week presentation at 7:13.
At halftime of the Center-Diboll game, the Diboll High School band will march and its dancers will perform, followed by the CHS Homecoming Festivities, including the crowning of the Queen and Princess.
If time allows, there will be another special ceremony, which is the A'Mie Preston being presentated with her State Championship (Powerlifting) ring.
After the contest, the CHS band will perform on the field.

Miss Shelby Hudspeth
Shelby is the daughter of Ryan and Rhonda Hudspeth.
Shelby has been a member of the Varsity tennis team for 3 years and a state qualifier for 1 year where she placed 8th in the state match. She has also been a regional qualifier for 2 years. She has participated in UIL spelling for 2 years and was a regional and state qualifier, a member of National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta for 2 years, SHINE for 3 years and is currently second in her class. Shelby has attended Providence Missionary Baptist Church for 10 years, where she is an active member. She enjoys spending time with her wonderful family and friends, reading, playing volleyball and tennis, and going to church. Shelby plans to attend SFA, Baylor or UT after graduation. At this time she would like to thank her classmates for the opportunity to represent their class.
Miss Simone Swindle
Simone is the daughter of Patricia Nash.
Simone is currently a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. She has also been a member of Student Council for 3 years and was a Junior Class Officer. Simone has been a part of the CHS Varsity Volleyball team for 2 years and made 1st Team All-District. She has participated in the Varsity track team for 1 year. Simone’s hobbies include texting, shopping and hanging out with her friends. She also loves spending time with her daughter Samiya.
Miss Tecosa Walker
Tecosa is the daughter of William E. Nash Jr. and Pearlie Nash and the granddaughter of Mrs. Pat Price and Mrs. Patsy Greer.
Tecosa served on the 2008 Homecoming Court representing the Junior Class. This year she a varsity cheerleader, senior class treasurer and is part of Student Council. She was named MVP player along with the coach’s award in golf. Tecosa is a member of the House of Refuge Ministries and is part of the Praise and Worship team. Her pastor is Bishop W.E. Nash, Jr. After graduation she plans to attend Angelina College and then Lamar University to study music theory. At this time she would like to give praise to her classmates and her little sisters- Aliyah & Mariah Nash.

Miss Brittney Griffith
Brittney is the daughter of Waylon and Margo Griffith.
Brittany has been a cheerleader for 5 years. She was Co-Head cheerleader for 1year. She has made All-Star cheerleader for 3 years. Brittany has been involved with the track team for 2 years, played volleyball for 5 years, and softball for 2 years. She received Academic All District for 2 years and was a member of DECA for 2 years. Brittany attends Center Missionary Baptist Church.
Miss Rachel Jacobs
Rachel is the daughter of Tommy and Linda Jacobs.
Rachel has been a cheerleader for 5 years, UCA All-Star cheerleader for 3 years, and All American Cheerleader for 1 year. Rachel has been a part of CHS softball for 2 years, academic all district for 2 years, first team all-district shortstop 2009, and awarded all-tournament at the Center Tournament in 2009. Rachel also played volleyball for 2 years. She is a member of Student Council, Mu Alpha Theta, and East Texas Gear Up Council, and Center Christian Fellowship. Rachel is an A/B honor student and has been on the CHS Homecoming court for 3 years. Her hobbies include fishing, playing sports and spending time with family and friends.

Miss Mariah Fulbright
Mariah is the daughter of Jason and Barbara Fulbright.
Mariah is currently a Center Roughrider Football Manager. She is a part of the cross country, track, and Power Lifting teams. She was a cheerleader for 3 years and has been in JCC for 2 years. She is a member of Center First Assembly of God & Parallel Surface Youth Ministry. Mariah holds the 2005 Shelby County Pre-Teen, and 2007 Shelby County Jr. Teen Title. Last year she was the Freshman Duchess and Homecoming Princess. Mariah’s hobbies include talking and texting on the phone, singing and drama, spending time with her family and best friend Jenna Wheeler. At this time she would like to thank her classmates for the honor of representing their class.
Miss Ashlyn Johnson
Ashlyn is the daughter of Courtney Johnson.
Ashlyn is a JV cheerleader, a member of the CHS volleyball team, and will also be participating in basketball and running track. Ashlyn was part of the CHS band for 1 year, and was in the Math and Science club for 1 year. Ashlyn is an active member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where Rev. David Mitchell is her pastor.

Miss Sykera Berry
Sykera is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Greg Hubbard.
Sykera has been in band for 4 years. She has played volleyball, basketball, ran track, and has been a cheerleader for 2 years. She has been in JCC for 1 year. She is a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she is the youth vice-president and a youth usher. She is an A/B honor roll student and 8th grade class favorite. Her hobbies include going to the theater, texting, and hanging with her friends.

Magon has been a part of volleyball for 3 years, basketball for 2 years, track for 2 years, and JCC for 2 years. Magon is this years Freshman class president. She has been a member of the Methodist Youth Felowship for 2 years. Her hobbies include riding four-wheelers, going to the lake, and she loves photography.
