The Timpson Middle School volleyball teams split their District 20-1A matches with Leverett's Chapel at home Monday night. The TMS 8th grade recorded a 2-0 victory, while the 7th grade squad fell by a 0-2 count.
Both teams will next travel to Gary on Monday, Oct. 19, for a 5 p.m. start with the Lady Bobcats.
The Lady Bear 8th grade won their match in two straight games, 25-16, 25-9. Madison Pierce paced Timpson in kills, while KeAmbria Holloway and Emily Box were credited with outstanding serves during the match.
The Timpson 7th grade dropped its match, 15-25, 23-25, battling the Lady Lions close in the final game before being closed out by two points at the end.
Kaylie Bush was praised by her coach with her kills, while Jada Bryant was the leading server for the Lady Bears.
