The Center boys and girls doubles tandems swept past their Nacogdoches counterparts last Saturday as the 'Riders kept their fall season record perfect at 9-0 with a 17-2 domination of the Class 4A Dragons.
Center and Nacogdoches played six extra matches at the competition, with the 'Riders claiming five of those matches as well.
The 'Riders will return to action Saturday when they visit Van (9 a.m.) and Lindale (1:30 p.m.). Both of those squads are strong regional opponents and will help the Center team as it prepares for the spring season.
"These matches we play in the fall get us ready for the spring seasons," said Center head coach Leon Dykes. "What I've been pleased with so far is the balance we're showing in our boys and girls teams. We really don't have a weak 'side' so when one side struggles, the other side picks us up and makes us a very solid team.
"I think that'll go a long way in helping the team in the spring and I've been very pleased with the way our team has progressed so far this fall."
