The Center High School tennis team is off to an unbeaten 5-0 start to the young season, recording two straight shutouts to begin fall play.
The 2011-12 team is led by seniors Seth Grant, Jesse Campbell, Jacy Clark, Ross Reynolds, Caroline Chadwick and Julie Wilkins.
The Riders opened the season with a 19-0 win over Nacogdoches, then blanked Kilgore in a rain-shortened 8-0 victory.
Van gave Center a still test as the Riders pulled out an 11-8 win. Center then edged Longview, 10-9 and then knocked off Lufkin, 12-5, for its fifth victory.
The Riders will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 10, when they travel to Jacksonville to battle the Indians at 9 a.m. and Wills Point at 1:30 p.m.
