CARTHAGE, Tx -- Carthage Lady Bulldog soccer player Ana DeSantiago was named the squad's Most Valuable Player recently as the First-Team All-District 32-4A player was one of several players honored at the 2010-11 Carthage Female Athletic Banquet held in the high school commons.

The Lady Dawgs' Madison Brown was named the CHS Defensive Player of the Year as she was a second-team all-district performer. Her teammate, Macy Cherry, was an honorable-mention all-district performer and was selected as the CHS Offensive Player of the Year.

The team's Heart Award went to Lucy Mayers, while Chandler Cooper received the Hustle Award. The players honored for Most Dedicated were Alayna Robertson and Amber Juarez. Julia Hudson and Annette Spann shared the Most Improved Award, while Madison Cooper, a second-team all-district player, was named Most Versatile.

Carthage posted a 5-13-1 record in its first season of girls' soccer. The Lady Bulldogs lost five seniors off that team - Ana DeSantiago, Annette Spann, Julia Hudson, Madison Cooper, Chandler Cooper.
