MBASK: CMS 7th boys place third at tourney

The Center Middle School seventh grade Roughriders placed third last weekend at the Central Tournament, picking up victories over Diboll and Lufkin.

The 'Riders started the tourney with a 40-34 win over the Lumberjacks, before falling 23-22 to Hudson. The Hornets hit a free throw with five seconds remaining to hand CMS the setback.

Center then came back strong in the third-place game, recording a 33-18 win over Lufkin.

Center return to action tonight (Thursday) at Kirbyville, before hosting Hudson on Monday (Jan. 24) for the final home game of the year. The game will be played at Roughrider Gymnasium at Center High School, with the contest tipping off at 5 p.m.

The 'Riders will then close out the season on Jan. 31 at Central.
