Tenaha's Keontas Davis returned the opening kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown and it was all Tigers from that point on as the Tenaha Junior High football team blanked Burkeville, 46-0, at Mustang Stadium in Burkeville last Thursday night.
In addition to scoring on the opening return, Davis added the two-point conversion. Later in the contest, he returned an interception for a score and made it into the endzone while playing quarterback for the Tigers.
Demarkus Perry also scored three touchdowns and a conversion for Tenaha and T.J. Thomas bounced in with a pair of two-point conversions.
Tenaha's defense scored a safety, and only let the Mustang offense cross the 50-yard line four times the entire game.
The Tigers will return home this week to face Beckville. There will be a 7th grade scrimmage, followed by an 8th grade game and a junior varsity contest. The first action will begin at 5 p.m.
