The Shelbyville varsity girls cross country team posted a strong showing at the Class 1A Region IV competition in San Antonio recently as a pair of Lady Dragon runners posted their best times of the year, according to Coach Stephany Carter.
As a team, Shelbyville ran 17th out of 23 teams at the Region IV meet, which was held at University of Texas-San Antonio.
Lady Dragon Emma Walker, who finished 5th at the District 25-1A Meet, secured her best time of the year as she posted a 13:47 at the Regional Meet. The time allowed her to finish 32nd in the tough field of 177 competitors.
Walker's teammate Camory Bolton also secured her best time of the year as she ran a 14:10. She ran 10th at the district meet and secured the 53rd spot at the Regional Meet.
Other Lady Dragon runners who participated included Chelsea Edwards, Kadeshia Turner, Tiara Johnson, Lovey Brown and Lakuwaneshia McClelland.
