The Center Lady Rider volleyball team continues to play tough competition in an effort to improve its play before the always-tough District 18-3A rolls around.

Center took part in the Nac Attack Tournament this past weekend at Nacogdoches, falling in each of its five matches.

"We played some really tough teams and give it our best," said Center Head Coach Alicia Harding. Unfortunately we were unable to come away with the win, but we have a good group of girls who work hard and I think that eventually that hard work will pay off."

The Lady Riders dropped decisions to Beaumont Ozen, Bullard and Arp during pool play on Thursday. They returned to action on Saturday, dropping matches to Diboll and Industrial in bracket action.

Center will return to action tonight when they visit Hemphill. The ninth grade is set to get started at 5 p.m., with the junior varsity and varsity to follow.

The first home action for the 2010 season will be a week from today when CHS hosts San Augustine next Tuesday at 5 p.m. There will be a junior varsity and varsity match.
