T&F: Lady Tigers finish strong at Beckville
The Tenaha Lady Tigers recently had a strong showing at the Beckville Track Meet, with several athletes finishing in the top six in field and running events.
In the field events, Lady Tiger Courtney Edwards placed fourth in the long jump, while teammate Tia Thomas took the fifth spot. Whitney Jackson had the fourth-best leap in the triple jump, while THS athlete Tia Thomas was sixth in the event. Amber I. Evans had the fourth-best leap in the high jump, while Taylor Killey placed fifth.
In the running events, Cristal Tovar of Tenaha ran fifth in the 3200-meter run, Amber M. Evans placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and Ashlee Ray posted the sixth-best time in the 300-meter hurdles.
The Tenaha relay team of Thomas, Bratchett, Jackson and Courtney Edwards ran to a third-place finish in both the 400 and the 800-meter relays.
The Lady Tiger 1600-meter relay foursome of Amber M. Evans, Bratchett, Edwards and Thomas placed third in the event.
Tenaha will return to action on Thursday when the Lady Tigers participate in the Big Sandy Relays.
