The Center Roughrider boys soccer team is now set for its playoff run as the squad's first-round playoff opponenet has been scheduled.

The 'Riders, who finished in fourth place in the District 35-4A race, are actually receiving a bye in this week's bi-district round of the playoffs. Because District 35-4A is a 'ghost district' all four teams who qualified for the playoffs - league champion Jacksonville, along with second-place Palestine and third-place Nacogdoches - all advance to the second round without a first-round contest.

The Roughriders, who finished the regular season with a 6-7-2 regular season mark, will face Waco Midway in the Area round next Tuesday, March 23, at Athens High School at 6 p.m.

Waco Midway was the second-place team in District 33-4A this season.

The survivor of Center and Waco Midway will face the winner of the Waco LaVega and Palestine at the end of next week in the Sectional Round of the playoffs on March 25-27.
